Slowly but surely

We will eventually get our house finished- right? We still have a lot of plans, but it is certainly a lot harder trying to fix up a house with an infant than with just the 2 of us- especially since she is now pulling everything off of tables and opening cabinets. Here is a picture of Jordan's crib, her wall letters, mobile and the window closest to her crib. For those of you well versed in our crib saga (never buy Creations Baby furniture), this is her real crib.

And a close up of the letters. Since I have very little (if any) artistic talent, I got someone from ebay to paint these for me. The "o" and "n" have dragonflies to match Jordan's bumper and quilt.

And a leftover picture from Memorial weekend. Jordan loves being pulled around Robert's pool in this red wagon that I swear has some type of special off-road wheels. We routinely have to stop the wagon ride when she stands up (for obvious reasons). On a side note, this is the most fabulous pool because it is around 4 ft deep so I can hold Jordan and be anywhere in the pool.

Wish us luck with the follow-up pediatric pulmonologist appt on Tuesday because these breathing treatments are wearing us out. If Jordan is awake, she still fights us on them, including stiffening her entire body, screaming and trying to squirm out of our arms. This makes her sweat which seems to make her cough, which is tons of fun. She has a well baby visit on July 15, as well, so she is all doctored up.

Just plugging along

So, we have just been plugging along lately. Jordan had a follow-up appt from her ear infection, and it turned out she had thrush. I think that was a lot of the reason she stopped sleeping through the night 4 nights in a row. She is on the mend, but she has a follow-up with the lung doc on July 1. We may end up insisting on allergy testing because her cough still comes and goes.

So far Jordan isn't a big fan of sitting in the grass, but she has always loved going outside. This is a picture from an evening when we were grilling out. Jordan was in one of her favorite spots- Dave's lap. Clearly, she still has no teeth.

Not the greatest picture, but I love the way her eyes look here. Outside you can truly see how big and blue they are.

And she has begun expressing interest in assisting the photographer (me)...

Baby proofing

We've been MIA in the blogging department b/c things have been pretty busy. When Jordan was trying to overcome hand, foot and mouth disease, we also had company for several days bravely staying with us. Then I thought I was finally going to get to go to trial, so we were prepping, though the case settled at a second mediation on Tuesday. Yesterday afternoon was my firm picnic, then this morning I went to a Tastefully Simple party and then the family went to the chili cook-off. But anyway...

With crawling and pulling up comes baby proofing. We now have a couple of baby gates set up on the first floor of our house to keep Jordan from falling down the stairs and out of the dog's food and water bowls. She has been frustrated with the gate between the dining room and kitchen since that one keeps her out of Maddie's food.

Busted!

Of course, Jordan isn't the only 1 frustrated by the baby gates...

Twin fun at Emma and Ethan's birthday party

So- better late than never. Before Memorial weekend we attended the 3rd birthday party for twinmommylawchick's adorable twins, Emma and Ethan. While the rain held off, it was VERY windy that day which resulted in paper plates being blown off of tables, despite being taped down. We didn't go the playground with the bigger kids, but I know a good time was had by all, especially Sophie who was so into playing that she didn't stop to go pee- oops.

Notice Jordan's eyes which look red from the wind.

And while we got each of the kids their first pair of roller skates (Barbie for Emma and red boy ones for Ethan), one of the biggest hits of the party were the capes purchased by 3carrs from etsy. While I didn't get good pics of the capes because the kids were having a blast with them and their other toys, here are the ones I did get.

At least the wind made the capes fly!

Because Jordan can't get a break, she currently has an ear infection and is probably coming down with hand, foot, mouth disease. 2 of the toddlers at daycare were diagnosed this week and Jordan now has red bumps appearing on her legs and feet. Oh, what fun...
